The Oktapad® Series of General-Purpose Prototype Eurocard Circuit Boards comprises single, double-sided and extended Eurocards – single (3U) and double (6U) height prototyping pcb’s. These matrix boards are formatted for total flexibility – for general purpose applications and various component packing densities, allowing any assembly and wiring techniques, i.e. Roadrunner, wire wrapping, or discrete component wiring. There are no restrictions to layout or wiring. IC’s are accepted in either plane. Supply lines are determined by the User. All The double-sided boards have a colander ground plane for maximum screening. Octagonal pads offer a large solder surface. Identification of component and wiring point locations is provided by silk screen references on the component side and hole matrix identification grid references on the solder side of the boards.

The Oktapad® Surface Mount Technology (SMT) Prototyping Eurocards, a series of circuit boards that comprise of 3U eurocards – single height, single and double sided, which have been developed to enable the introduction of the Roadrunner Wiring Technique to Surface Mount Technology (SMT). The circuit boards have been designed as experimental development boards, to combine the assembly and wiring of Surface Mount Devices (SMD’s) with conventional components. All Oktapad® Surface Mount Technology (SMT) Prototyping Eurocards contain popular Surface Mount Device (SMD) footprints with fan-outs to easy-to-wire solder pads. The single height, double sided boards repeat the SMT pattern on both sides. The colander ground plane covers the remaining component side copper pad or strip sections. There are fixing holes to attach a ‘piggy-back’ board, should the need arise.
